/EUR ING: in the two EMC meetings, a total of 113 applications was checked. 104 applications were accepted; 9 were not accepted/deferred.

/CPD Survey among EUR INGs and employers: the WG (Messrs. K. DE WEVER and A. SOEIRO) presented the results of the e-survey. 674 EUR INGs and 108 employers participated. The summary report is available on the FEANI website, under http://www.feani.org/site/index.php?id=287. The results were also presented to the recent IACEE World Conference on Continuing Engineering Education in Porto.

/INDEX updates: programme submissions from the following NMCs were accepted for INDEX inclusion: SI, SK, PL and a number of programmes from RU (subject to the payment of its membership fee 2016). The NMC from AT received the permission for automatic INDEX updating for five years. Submissions that are currently in process are from MT and UA (programme submissions) and from FR (application for renewal of automatic INDEX updating application). Overall in 2015, some 900+ INDEX updates were made, by BE, DE, DK, ES, HR, IE, NO and PT.

/EMC noted the status of the project for unification of the FEANI INDEX and ENAEE EUR-ACE databases. The WG consisting of members from FEANI and ENAEE is currently in the data gathering and analysis phase in view of defining the framework of the endeavor. The project was awarded to the IT company of the EMC member Mr. K. DE WEVER, who was subsequently asked by the FEANI Executive Board to step down as EMC member to avoid any possible conflicts of interest. He will continue to be invited to EMC meetings as guest.

/EMC was asked by the FEANI Executive Board to make a proposal for a concept for bringing the EUR ING and Engineering Card concepts together. The EMC Chair presented the results of EMC’s first reflections and a SWOT analysis to the Board meeting on 17 June 2016. The proposals include reflections about added value and benefits of the products, the inclusion of CPD, validities (including renewal scheme) and pricing. An EMC WG will further continue reflections in preparation of the next EMC meeting taking place end of September.

/EMC’s proposal for a document on “The Professional Status of the Engineer in Europe” was finalized for recommendation to the FEANI Executive Board.

/EMC was informed about the status of the Erasmus+ project on the “Creation of a System for the Documentation and Validation of Non-formal and Informal Learning” (project leader: VDI; FEANI acting as a project partner).

/EMC noted that the EU Project on Common Training Principles for engineers (CTPs) was awarded to the European Council of Engineers Chambers (ECEC). FEANI collaborates with them, with the help of a “Research Assistant” who was hired for this job temporarily. It was noted that there are no specific activities foreseen for the EMC at this stage.
