Responsibilities
• Preparing a wide variety of designs for both Masts & Towers (M&T) and other programmed B&CE work services (eg, asbestos removal works). NB, knowledge of preparing structural computer models and running structural analysis programmes is required for this task.
• Managing the end-to-end process on those occasions when we elect to engage external consultants to undertake design. This will include; preparation of specifications and tender documents, liaison with Mitie Commercial colleagues, and monitoring consultants and/ or subcontractors to ensure their work is carried out to agreed time/ cost/ quality standards.

• Managing/supervising the delivery of a number of projects
• Assisting in the execution of the Building Control Advisor function for the construction phase, in liaison with the Discrete Works Manager. This task includes the need to prepare the Construction Certificate following regular inspections of controlled works; this includes, but is not limited to, the inspection of excavation of foundations, concrete foundations, DPC, drains & drains testing.
• Inspecting the airfield operating surfaces at RAF station Akrotiri on a monthly basis and preparing an associated report to detail your findings. In addition, the Project Engineer is responsible for ensuring their findings are translated into actions in that identified works are processed for client approval and delivery by the Supply Chain: this may necessitate a need to escalate urgent works to senior staffs. In the event this task is outsourced, the Project Engineer will be responsible for managing delivery of the inspection and report by an external consultant.
