Απαιτούμενα προσόντα και εμπειρία:

• Degree in Civil Engineering

• Registration with the Technical Chambers of Cyprus

• An aggregate of 5 years engagement in the construction industry, with at least 2 years’ experience in Asbestos/building inspections

• Familiarity with UK Health and Safety legislation, construction Codes of Practice, Building Regulations, British Standards

• Previous experience of the Ministry of Defence Estate

• Holder of relevant BOHS (British Occupation Hygiene Society) Certification (Desirable)

Job Purpose

Monitoring the condition of the Asbestos Containing Materials within the BF Establishments Island wide, Maintaining the Asbestos Register and undertaking inspections to buildings and infrastructure assets.

Responsibilities

• Undertake the visual condition inspection of Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) against the Asbestos Register.

• Update and Maintain the Asbestos Register.

• Develop and maintain the programme of inspections.

• Raise works orders where remedial action is required for the urgent removal/sealing or repair of damaged/deteriorating ACMs, in accordance with the IMS Processes. 

• Prepare and maintain an Action Plan for the removal of all High Risk Asbestos listed on the Asbestos Register and raise relevant WOs on the 10Y Works Register.

• Prepare detailed statements of requirement and design briefs for works relating to Asbestos repairs and/or removals.

• Monitor the execution of all programmed and approved works involving the removal of ACMs.

• Ensure the submission of adequate Handover Documentation and Update the Asbestos Register on completion of any asbestos removal/repair work.

• Assist in the preparation of the required documentation to engage external consultants to undertake Specialist survey work.

• Undertake Technical Inspections/Appraisals/Surveys to Buildings and Infrastructure Assets including Airfield Pavements as required.

• Produce reports to the appropriate contractual, MOD and good practice standards.

• Raise follow up remedial works orders from the recommendations of the Reports in accordance with the IMS Processes. 

• Update the organisation’s databases as a result of the Inspections findings as necessary.

• Provide technical assistance to other ISP staff supporting any works activity, within the discipline and competence, as necessary.
